Elise Rocks grew up in Spartanburg, SC and attended Converse College as a Milliken Scholar. She moved to Wilmington in 1988.
Her son Kelsey Rocks Allen is an alumnus of New Hanover High School and is a recent graduate of University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he currently resides as a freelance editor, director and videographer. His volunteer experience with the Cucalorus Film Festival encouraged his interest in film.
Elise and Kelsey have enjoyed many travels over the years to spend time with her brother Lance and his family, who have been stationed in the Coast Guard in Charleston, Connecticut, the Bahamas, Virginia and Guam, with an upcoming trip to Rotterdam.
Elise is an avid paddler and enjoys camping at Masonboro, exploring our waterways, rivers and creeks.
She follows in the dance steps of her parents, Patt and Tom Rocks, who are active community participants in Spartanburg. A member of Church of the Good Shepherd, you can find Elise at Sixth and Queen Streets downtown on Sunday mornings, followed by brunch at the Dixie Grill (unless she's dancing at a music festival!)
